Soup Labels, Pop Tops, and canceled stamps for Duval Home |
| Posted by: webmaster on 04/18/2004 04:46 (Read: ) |
| THE MISSIONS COMMITTEE is collecting Campbell Soup labels, cancelled postage stamps and soft drink cans pop tops. You may drop your donations to the office, Wednesdays evenings in the Fellowship Hall or in the collection plates on Sunday. Each of the items are collected and sent to the Duvall Home in Glenwood. The Duvall Home is able to redeem the soup labels for much needed times which in the past has included a van and computer equipment. By cutting off cancelled stamps from letters you receive, Duvall is able to sell them for $2.00 per pound with the monies going towards operating expenses. The tabs from the soft drink cans are collected by residents of the home and taken to McDonalds where they are redeemed for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House. This project allows the residents to be involved in the community and to serve others. |
